Waigang Project of Shanghai Electric Bearing Production Base started construction

 On the afternoon of December 12, the groundbreaking ceremony for the bearing production base (Waigang) project of Shanghai Jiyou Machinery Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shanghai Electric, was held in Waigang Town, Jiading District. The bearing production base (Waigang) project is located at No. 5291 and 5278 of Huyi Highway, east to the border of the plot, south to Xiqilian River, west to the border of the plot, and north to Waigang Chenjing. The proposed total construction area is 37,411 square meters m, including 3 single-storey main factory buildings, 1 multi-storey R&D comprehensive office building and related supporting facilities.

The base plan focuses on the "import substitution" of bearings for high-end equipment such as rail transit, new energy vehicles, and aerospace. The "integrated" manufacturing base built under the round of strategic planning and development layout.

In the future, Shanghai United Rolling Bearing Co., Ltd., the project investor, will deploy relevant functions in the base to form four centers: sales operation center, research and development center, procurement center, and high-end manufacturing center, and build the bearing production base (Waigang) into a track in East China Transportation bearings and robot reducer bearing demonstration bases and bearing R&D and manufacturing bases. After the project is put into production, it is expected to produce 40 million sets of high-precision bearings annually, and at the same time create about 1,000 new jobs.

In addition, the project must adhere to the principle of economy on the premise of ensuring that the construction does not reduce requirements; it must be implemented in accordance with procedures and regulations, strengthen supervision and supervision, and strengthen safety awareness.
